This album took 4 years to realize and was made possible by my friends who are all featured on this album - their boundless love, talent, and energy astounds me - and this magnetic place I came to more than a decade ago - Ithaca. It is dedicated to my Dad, Tim.

Through creating these songs, I've had bizarre and normal experiences involving death and mortality. For a while I unknowingly existed in a state of anxiety - every move as if something bad was about to happen. Over the last 4 years I've watched myself grow in reflections on my Dad's passing, and said goodbye to my grandma, a special home in the NC mountains, a relationship, my 1st band, and one of my best friends, my aunt Rebekah, in a tragic car accident due to a drugged & drunk driver. 2 years ago a good friend and artist passed from an overdose. I finished recording vocals this Summer 2 days before my lifelong BFF passed away - my Nana Virginia - who was able to hear mixes from her hospital bed.

When I was brainstorming a title, research revealed that classical necromancers did what I've done -- and that the oldest literary account of necromancy is found in Homer’s Odyssey, where Odysseus realizes he can't summon the spirits without the help of others. I hope you'll find what your heart is seeking, too. Thank you for listening.
